What is powder coating?
Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of materials and products. Industrial, commercial and consumer clients all use these powder coated products regularly in their day to day lives. (check out this awesome video about it!) The powder used for the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin. We spray this mixture on the product surface after taking measures to protect small holes, threads and ornate details. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until heated and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven.
The Result
The result is a uniform, durable, high quality and attractive finish that is up to 10 times more durable than ordinary paint. In contrast to traditional liquid paint, this means that a powder coated finish is extremely resistant to chips, scratches, abrasion, heat up to 200 degrees and UV light. Powder coating also eliminates runs, drips, and sags which are common with painted finishes. It also has corrosion resistance properties which are difficult to achieve with other materials or methods.
